Hi Guy's,
I've discovered this website just in time for my ICE Review in September (Hong Kong).

I've recently (a week ago) changed companies. After 6 years with my previous company I am anticipating that I will field some questions from my reviewers on this subject;

"What were your reasons for changing companies?"
"What are the primary changes to your role and responsibilities?"

...any other suggestions?

Thanks for all the info.

We don't bite - honest! I'm Tim and am one of the co-founders of this website. I check here on a daily basis to welcome our newest friends, especially those who need bit of help going through the Chartership processes.

I answer the ICE questions that arise here and on thestructuralexam.com, as that is that path I have been following for the last few years. Actually I had planned to do IStructE for a few years until they removed the 'exotic' specialist questions as of January 2015 which is my field of expertise! Angry

Anyway, I hope you feel welcome at this forum :-)
Hi,

I am an Incorporated structural Engineer working towards submitting my application for MIStructE through the AM to M route, in a couple of weeks time.
Glad I have found this website in time to review all the useful tips and hints against the work I have done so far before submitting.
The exam tips will no doubt be invaluable should I get that far through the process.
Thanks
Adam
Hi all,

I'm currently in the process of finalising my application for MIStructE aiming to sit the exam next summer. Like many others, I have found the advice on this site really helpful for working through the process and a big thanks to all who have contributed.

Cheers,
Pete

Welcome!

Reviewers are free to ask whatever they want, but they know that many job changes are for personal reasons and that can be the end of the story.

If I were reviewing you though I'd certainly want to know what changes there are to your role and responsibilities. I guess you're there to prove that you are growing professionally and stretching yourself sensibly.

Hi folks, Matthew here. My progress with my ICE professional review has been start-stop for a few years and I'm now getting focussed to get on with it. The forum and website looks like a great resource and look forward to sharing the experience with other fellow civil engineers.

Hi all. I am looking to sit my ICE chartered review in Spring 2018. I have your guidance book which is proving very useful and I hope to pick up a few other tips here.

All the best

Rob
Hiya

I am planning to sit the IStructE interview this winter and the exam in July 2018.

Founding your site and resources very helpful.

My question currently is - should I submit my application as individually managed or accredited scheme? What would be the difference in submission requirements etc.?

Thank you

Thank you

Did you get signed off on another institution's (e.g. IStructE or IMechE) training programme? That will be the deciding factor I guess!

Tim, I did get signed off. However, it seems to me that the individually managed route requires less paperwork?
