Introduce yourself here!

Hi there,

We don't bite - honest! I'm Tim and am one of the co-founders of this website. I check here on a daily basis to welcome our newest friends, especially those who need bit of help going through the Chartership processes.

I answer the ICE questions that arise here and on thestructuralexam.com, as that is that path I have been following for the last few years. Actually I had planned to do IStructE for a few years until they removed the 'exotic' specialist questions as of January 2015 which is my field of expertise! Angry

Anyway, I hope you feel welcome at this forum :-)

Hi Tim!

I'm Ralph and I'm busy writing more content for our site. I want to make this site as useful as possible for everyone who is working towards their chartership.

I sat and passed the IStructE exam in 2014, so it's still relatively fresh in my memory, and I'm hoping to pass on all the tips I picked up so that others can feel more confident when they go to sit down in the morning at what is probably for most people - and certainly was for me - the longest exam you will ever sit!

Hi guys,

Another Tim here. Looking to go with IStructE for CEng - interview this Autumn and exam next year.

Website looks good, and will definitely be back again.

Thanks,
Tim

Welcome Tim!

We're glad you found this site! We're working to build up the IStructE repertoire on the site, so keep checking back to see what new things we put up. We would also be delighted to help you along the way (mainly through Ralph - he is the expert on the IStructE side of things).

Cheers,
Tim

Lots of Tims I see.

Looking to go chartered with ICE from an Oil and Gas background. Wrestling with the ICE framework, especially how much it's changed in the last few years.

Your site is extremely helpful! Guidance from the ICE is less than spectacular.

Welcome!

Thanks for the compliment! Hopefully this site will help you tackle the overwhelming confusion that ICE seems to cause a lot of graduates.

Hi folks,
I'm a structural engineer working in the oil & gas industry. Have just discovered this website and it looks great, i'm in the process of collating evidence for my individually managed portfolio and will be looking to sit the offshore exam question - now that it has been reinstated!

Glad to have you here SteveD! Are you sure the offshore question has been reinstated? They had the one-off in July 2015 but they were adamant that its exclusion thereafter would be permanent.

Googling away now...

Hi,
my mistake, having checked the offshore Q will not be an option for 2017. I apologise for any confusion.
